1. Product description

A roller or curtain applied UV topcoat that cures to high surface hardness and abrasion resistance in line, supplied from deep matt to gloss. It is the finish layer on engineered flooring, wardrobe shutters and flat panel furniture where throughput and scratch resistance govern the choice rather than field repairability. It is the top of the UV family and is applied only over a cured and sanded Arcwood UV 150 base.

2. Features

  • Roller or curtain application on flatline
  • Konig hardness of 120 to 160 s and pencil hardness of 2H to 4H
  • Taber abrasion mass loss of 20 to 60 mg
  • Panels stackable directly off the line
  • Supplied from deep matt to gloss

3. Recommended uses

Finish layer on engineered flooring, wardrobe shutters and flat panel furniture produced on UV flatlines, where throughput and scratch resistance govern the choice rather than field repairability.

Substrates. Sanded UV sealer on MDF, particle board, plywood, veneered panel and engineered flooring blanks.

5. Application

ParameterGuidance
Application methodRoller coater or curtain coater on a flatline
Surface preparationOnly over cured Arcwood UV 150, sanded with 320 to 400 grit on a wide-belt sander and free of dust
Coat weight8 to 15 g/m2 by roller, or 20 to 40 g/m2 by curtain
CureMercury or UV LED lamps at the stated dose and line speed. Check lamp output and lamp age, because an under-cured film marks in service.
Matt gradesHold lamp output and line speed inside the stated window to hold the sheen
HandlingPanels are stackable directly off the line

Process. Roller applied at 8 to 15 g/m2, or curtain applied at 20 to 40 g/m2, cured under mercury or UV LED lamps at the stated dose and line speed. Panels are stackable directly off the line. Matt grades require lamp output and line speed to be held within the stated window to hold the sheen.

6. Storage and handling

Store in the original, closed, light-proof container away from daylight, UV sources and heat, and keep containers closed between uses. Shelf life is stated on the label and Certificate of Analysis. Handle and use the product in line with its Safety Data Sheet.

7. Safety and regulatory information

Read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Safety Data Sheets and regulatory declarations are issued by our technical centre against the product and batch supplied, so they are sent on request rather than published. Request a Safety Data Sheet or declaration.
