Arcwood UV 150 UV Roller Sealer and Filler
A solvent-free, high-solids UV-curable roller sealer and filler for flatline board production, applied and cured in line to fill the porosity of MDF and particle board before topcoating. It stays sandable after cure, so a wide-belt sander can cut it back to a flat, closed surface without loading.

1. Product description
A solvent-free, high-solids roller coating for flatline board production, applied and cured in line to fill the porosity of MDF and particle board before topcoating. It is formulated to stay sandable after cure so the belt can cut it back to a flat, closed surface without loading. It is the base member of the UV family and carries most of the film build that the UV topcoat sits on.
2. Features
- Solvent-free, 95 to 100 per cent non-volatile content
- Roller applied at 8 to 20 g/m2 per pass, typically 2 to 4 passes
- Cures in line under mercury or UV LED lamps
- Sands to a flat, closed surface without loading the belt
- Carries most of the film build under Arcwood UV 380
3. Recommended uses
Filling and sealing of MDF, high-density fibreboard, particle board, plywood and veneered panel on flatline roller coaters, as the base under UV topcoats for furniture board and flooring.
Substrates. MDF, high-density fibreboard, particle board, plywood and veneered panel on a flatline roller coater.
4. Typical properties
| Property | Typical value | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Technology | Solvent-free UV-curable roller coating | Formulation |
| Appearance | Liquid, curing in line to a sandable film | Visual |
| Non-volatile content by mass | 95 to 100 per cent | ASTM D5403 |
| Supply viscosity, rotational viscometer at 30 degrees C | 400 to 1200 mPa.s | ISO 2884-2 |
| Density at 30 degrees C | 1.00 to 1.25 g/cm3 | ISO 2811-1 |
| Coat weight per pass | 8 to 20 g/m2 | customer or supplier protocol |
| Number of passes | 2 to 4, with intermediate gelling | customer or supplier protocol |
| Cure | Mercury or UV LED lamps, at the dose confirmed for the grade and line | customer or supplier protocol |
| Sanding after cure | 320 to 400 grit on a wide-belt sander, without loading | customer or supplier protocol |
| Cross-cut adhesion | Classification 0 to 1 for the complete system | ISO 2409 |
Typical values, not a specification. Values for each batch are given on its Certificate of Analysis.
5. Application
| Parameter | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Application method | Flatline roller coater |
| Surface preparation | Board sanded and free of dust before it enters the roller coater |
| Coat weight | 8 to 20 g/m2 per pass, set by roller gap and speed |
| Passes | Typically 2 to 4 passes, with intermediate gelling between passes |
| Cure | Mercury or UV LED lamps at the dose stated for the grade. Check lamp output and lamp age, because a lamp with reduced output under-cures the film. |
| Sanding | 320 to 400 grit on a wide-belt sander to a flat, closed surface |
| Next step | Arcwood UV 380 topcoat |
Process. Roller applied at 8 to 20 g/m2 per pass, typically 2 to 4 passes with intermediate gelling. Cure under mercury or UV LED lamps at the dose stated on the technical data sheet, then sand with 320 to 400 grit on a wide-belt sander before topcoating.
6. Storage and handling
Store in the original, closed, light-proof container away from daylight, UV sources and heat, and keep containers closed between uses. Shelf life is stated on the label and Certificate of Analysis. Handle and use the product in line with its Safety Data Sheet.
7. Safety and regulatory information
Read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Safety Data Sheets and regulatory declarations are issued by our technical centre against the product and batch supplied, so they are sent on request rather than published. Request a Safety Data Sheet or declaration.
