1. Product description

A higher flow hybrid for flat panel work where the finish is inspected, so appliance housings, white goods panels, display cabinets and office furniture. It is formulated for a smoother flow-out and tighter gloss and shade control from batch to batch than HY 220, and it is also supplied as a fine structure where the texture is wanted to disguise substrate marks and weld dressing. Overbake resistance is wider again, which suits a line running a mixed load.

2. Features

  • Smoother flow-out for inspected flat panels
  • Tighter gloss and shade control from batch to batch than HY 220
  • Fine structure option to disguise substrate marks and weld dressing
  • Wider overbake resistance for a line running a mixed load
  • 60 to 90 microns dry film

3. Recommended uses

Appliance housings, white goods panels, display cabinets and office furniture, in interior service.

Substrates. Pretreated mild steel, electrogalvanised steel, aluminium panel.

5. Application

ParameterGuidance
Application methodElectrostatic corona or tribostatic spray
Surface preparationPretreated mild steel, electrogalvanised steel or aluminium panel, clean and dry
Dilution or thinnerNone; applied as supplied, solvent-free
Dry film thickness60 to 90 microns, checked to ISO 2178 on steel and ISO 2360 on aluminium
Cure schedule10 to 15 min at 180 degrees C object temperature, confirmed with a data-logging oven profiler; oven air temperature is not the cure figure
Finish inspectionGloss to ISO 2813 and shade against the agreed standard on each batch
ServiceInterior only; hybrid chalks outdoors

Process. Electrostatic corona or tribostatic spray, 60 to 90 microns dry film. Typical cure 10 to 15 minutes at 180 degrees C object temperature.

6. Storage and handling

Store sealed in the original packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and let cartons reach workshop temperature before opening so that condensation does not form on the powder. Shelf life is stated on the label and Certificate of Analysis. Handle and use the product in line with its Safety Data Sheet.

7. Safety and regulatory information

Read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Safety Data Sheets and regulatory declarations are issued by our technical centre against the product and batch supplied, so they are sent on request rather than published. Request a Safety Data Sheet or declaration.

This Technical Data Sheet is published for on-screen reference. The information is given in good faith from laboratory and application experience and describes typical values; it is not a specification and does not replace a trial on your own substrate and line.
