1. Product description

The standard epoxy-polyester hybrid for interior metal finishing, and the grade most general jobbing lines run as their base material. It holds colour better than straight epoxy through an overbake and tolerates a wider oven window, which matters when mixed part masses go through the same conveyor. Interior only: hybrid chalks outdoors in the same way epoxy does.

2. Features

  • Holds colour through an overbake better than straight epoxy
  • Wider oven window for mixed part masses on one conveyor
  • 50 to 80 microns dry film
  • Reclaimable
  • Interior only: hybrid chalks outdoors as epoxy does

3. Recommended uses

General interior metal finishing on jobbing lines that run mixed part masses through the same conveyor oven, on steel, galvanised steel and aluminium.

Substrates. Pretreated mild steel, electrogalvanised and hot-dip galvanised steel, aluminium. Galvanised work is degassed before the powder is applied.

5. Application

ParameterGuidance
Application methodElectrostatic corona or tribostatic spray
Surface preparationPretreated mild steel, electrogalvanised or hot-dip galvanised steel, or aluminium, clean and dry. Galvanised work is degassed before the powder is applied.
Dilution or thinnerNone; applied as supplied, solvent-free
Dry film thickness50 to 80 microns, checked to ISO 2178 on steel and ISO 2360 on aluminium
Cure schedule10 to 15 min at 180 degrees C object temperature, confirmed with a data-logging oven profiler; oven air temperature is not the cure figure
OversprayReclaimable through the booth recovery system
ServiceInterior only; not for parts exposed to sunlight

Process. Electrostatic corona or tribostatic spray, 50 to 80 microns dry film. Typical cure 10 to 15 minutes at 180 degrees C object temperature. Reclaimable.

6. Storage and handling

Store sealed in the original packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and let cartons reach workshop temperature before opening so that condensation does not form on the powder. Shelf life is stated on the label and Certificate of Analysis. Handle and use the product in line with its Safety Data Sheet.

7. Safety and regulatory information

Read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Safety Data Sheets and regulatory declarations are issued by our technical centre against the product and batch supplied, so they are sent on request rather than published. Request a Safety Data Sheet or declaration.
