Arcmotive IN 210 Interior Matt Topcoat
A single-component matt topcoat for low-contact interior parts such as bezels, vents, pillar trim and cowl covers. It is applied at a lower film build and dries faster than IN 250 and IN 290, and is intended for a controlled low-gloss appearance and a clean colour match rather than heavy chemical duty.

1. Product description
A single-component matt topcoat for low-contact interior parts such as bezels, vents, pillar trim and cowl covers. It is the lowest film build and the fastest drying grade in the interior group, intended for parts that need a controlled low-gloss appearance and a clean colour match rather than heavy chemical duty. Where the part is touched constantly or sees hand cream, specify IN 250 or IN 290 instead.
2. Features
- Single component, with no mixing ratio or pot life to manage
- Controlled matt appearance held to the approved master panel
- Lower film build than IN 250 and IN 290, 15 to 25 micrometres dry
- Force dried at 60 to 70 degrees Celsius part temperature, or air dried where the part cannot be baked
- For low-contact parts; IN 250 or IN 290 is specified where the part is touched constantly or sees hand cream
3. Recommended uses
Bezels, air vents, pillar trim, cowl covers and similar low-contact interior trim moulded in ABS, PC/ABS or polyamide, where appearance and colour match govern the specification rather than chemical resistance.
Substrates. ABS, PC/ABS and polyamide, as moulded or primed. Not intended for untreated polypropylene.
4. Typical properties
| Property | Typical value | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Technology | Single-component matt topcoat for plastics, force dried or air dried | Formulation |
| Appearance and finish | Pigmented matt film in the agreed colour, matched to the approved master panel | Customer or supplier protocol, visual assessment against the master panel |
| Specular gloss at 60 degrees | Held to the approved master panel, typically within plus or minus 1.5 units at 60 degrees; where the 60 degree reading is below 10 units, also read at 85 degrees as ISO 2813 provides for low-gloss films | ISO 2813 |
| Dry film thickness | 15 to 25 micrometres | ISO 2808 |
| Cross-cut adhesion, initial and after ageing | Classification 0 to 1 with no flaking at the cut intersections, held after humidity and thermal cycling | ISO 2409 |
| Pencil hardness | F to H | ISO 15184 |
| Condensation humidity resistance | 240 to 504 hours at 40 degrees Celsius with no blistering, softening or adhesion loss, assessed after 1 to 2 hours recovery | ISO 6270-2 |
| Temperature cycling | 10 cycles between minus 40 and 90 degrees Celsius with adhesion held and no blistering, cracking or flaking | Customer protocol cycle, assessed to ISO 2409 and ISO 4628-1 to ISO 4628-5 |
| Colour difference after light exposure | Delta E star ab typically below 2.0 against the approved master panel, after the interior light exposure set in the customer protocol | ASTM D2244, exposure as set in the customer protocol |
Typical values, not a specification. Values for each batch are given on its Certificate of Analysis.
5. Application
| Parameter | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Application method | Spray, by robot bell or by hand gun. |
| Surface preparation | ABS, PC/ABS and polyamide, as moulded or primed. Wash or degrease to remove release agent and dust, dry, and destaticise with ionised air immediately before coating where specified. Not for untreated polypropylene. |
| Viscosity adjustment | Reduce only with the thinner named on the batch documentation, and set viscosity at the gun with a flow cup at a stated temperature. |
| Dry film thickness | 15 to 25 micrometres. |
| Flash off and drying | Flash off 5 to 10 minutes at ambient, then force dry 20 to 30 minutes at 60 to 70 degrees Celsius part temperature, measured with a data logger travelling with the part. Air dry where the part cannot be baked. Air-dried parts take longer to reach the properties in this sheet, which are quoted on force-dried film, so allow the full air-dry period stated on the batch documentation before packing or testing. |
| Quality control | Read colour and gloss against the approved master panel, and check adhesion on a witness panel run with the parts. |
| Safety and handling | Refer to the Safety Data Sheet, issued on request against the product supplied. |
Process. Spray applied by robot bell or hand gun at 15 to 25 micrometres dry. Flash off 5 to 10 minutes at ambient, then force dry 20 to 30 minutes at 60 to 70 degrees Celsius part temperature, or air dry where the part cannot be baked.
6. Storage and handling
Store in the original closed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated store, out of direct sunlight and away from sources of heat. Shelf life is stated on the label and the Certificate of Analysis. Handle and use the product in line with its Safety Data Sheet.
7. Safety and regulatory information
Read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Safety Data Sheets and regulatory declarations are issued by our technical centre against the product and batch supplied, so they are sent on request rather than published. Request a Safety Data Sheet or declaration.
This Technical Data Sheet is published for on-screen reference. The information is given in good faith from laboratory and application experience and describes typical values; it is not a specification and does not replace a trial on your own substrate and line.
