Arcdom HT 210 Silicone-Polyester High-Temperature Finish
Arcdom HT 210 is a pigmented silicone-polyester stoving finish for appliance parts that run warm and remain on show. It is the colour holding grade of the Arcdom HT subfamily, written against repeated heating and cooling rather than a single peak temperature.

1. Product description
A pigmented silicone-polyester finish for parts that run warm and are still on show: oven outer doors and trims, hob and cooktop surrounds, grill housings, warming drawer fronts and toaster bodies. It is the colour holding grade of the high-temperature subfamily, available across a normal appliance colour range, and it is specified where continuous service sits above what a straight polyester will hold but below the range that needs a pure silicone. Repeated heating and cooling, not a single peak, is the condition it is written against.
2. Features
- Silicone-polyester binder for continuous service above what a straight polyester holds and below the range that needs a pure silicone
- Available across a normal appliance colour range
- Assessed after repeated heating and cooling cycles rather than a single soak
- Conversion coating used only where the part also has a corrosion requirement
3. Recommended uses
Oven outer doors and trims, hob and cooktop surrounds, grill housings, warming drawer fronts and toaster bodies.
Substrates. Aluminised steel, cold rolled steel, stainless steel and aluminium, cleaned and free of drawing compound and press oil. A conversion coating is used only where the part also has a corrosion requirement, since phosphate layers break down at sustained high temperature.
4. Typical properties
| Property | Typical value | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Technology | Solvent-borne pigmented silicone-polyester stoving finish | Formulation |
| Appearance | Pigmented liquid in the agreed appliance colour | Visual |
| Non-volatile content | Typically 45 to 60 per cent by weight | ISO 3251 |
| Dry film thickness | Typically 20 to 35 µm | ISO 2808 |
| Specular gloss | Agreed level within the range window: matt 15 to 30, semi-gloss 40 to 60 or high gloss 80 to 95 GU at 60°, held within about 5 GU of the retained master panel | ISO 2813 |
| Heat resistance | Typically continuous to about 200 to 230 °C, with short excursions higher, assessed after repeated heating and cooling cycles for colour change, cracking, blistering and adhesion loss | ASTM D2485 |
| Cross-cut adhesion | Classification 0 to 1, dry and after heat cycling, at 1 mm cut spacing | ISO 2409 |
| Pencil hardness | Typically H to 2H | ASTM D3363 |
| Cure confirmation | Typically 50 to 100 MEK double rubs without break-through to the substrate | ASTM D5402 |
Typical values, not a specification. Values for each batch are given on its Certificate of Analysis.
5. Application
| Parameter | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Application method | Conventional or electrostatic spray; applied to the part after forming, and not for sheet that is formed after coating |
| Surface preparation | Aluminised steel, cold rolled steel, stainless steel or aluminium, cleaned and free of drawing compound and press oil. A conversion coating only where the part also has a corrosion requirement, since phosphate layers break down at sustained high temperature |
| Thinning | Only with the thinner specified for the grade, to the spray viscosity set for the equipment at line trial |
| Film thickness | Typically 20 to 35 µm dry |
| Flash off | 10 minutes before the oven |
| Stoving schedule | 20 to 30 minutes at 200 to 230 °C metal temperature |
Process. Conventional or electrostatic spray, flash off 10 minutes, stoved 20 to 30 minutes at 200 to 230 degrees C metal temperature.
6. Storage and handling
Store in the original tightly closed containers in a cool, dry, covered area away from heat sources and direct sunlight, and stir thoroughly before use. Shelf life is stated on the label and on the Certificate of Analysis. Handle and use the product in line with its Safety Data Sheet.
7. Safety and regulatory information
Read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Safety Data Sheets and regulatory declarations are issued by our technical centre against the product and batch supplied, so they are sent on request rather than published. Request a Safety Data Sheet or declaration.
This Technical Data Sheet is published for on-screen reference. The information is given in good faith from laboratory and application experience and describes typical values; it is not a specification and does not replace a trial on your own substrate and line.
