Arcvista RF 410 Fine Structure Coating

A UV structure coating cured in two stages: a short wave source skins the surface, then the full cure shrinks the bulk beneath it and the film wrinkles into a fine, even texture. It is applied from a high volume anilox for all over textured fields and large background panels.

1. Product description

A UV structure coating cured in two stages, so that a short wave source skins the surface before the full cure shrinks the bulk beneath it and the film wrinkles into a fine, even texture. Because the texture is produced by the cure sequence and not by a filler, lamp type, power, distance and line speed are recorded as part of the specification alongside the applied weight. It is applied from a high volume anilox and suits all over textured fields and large background panels.

2. Features

  • Fine, even wrinkle texture produced by the cure sequence, not by a filler
  • Two-stage UV cure: short wave surface cure followed by full cure
  • Lamp type, wavelength, power, distance, line speed and any inerting recorded with the applied weight
  • Applied from a high volume anilox at 6 to 15 g/m² dry

3. Recommended uses

All over textured fields and large background panels on folding cartons, coated papers and laminated board where a tactile finish is wanted from an in-line coating.

Substrates. Coated folding boxboard, coated papers, laminated board and coated liners

5. Application

ParameterGuidance
Application methodFlexo or coating unit with a high volume anilox
DilutionSupplied ready for use; not diluted
Applied coat weight, dry6 to 15 g/m²
First cure stageShort wave UV surface cure to skin the film
Second cure stageFull UV cure through the film, which shrinks the bulk beneath the skin and forms the texture
SpecificationLamp type and wavelength, power, distance, line speed and, where the surface cure source needs it, nitrogen inerting are recorded with the applied weight; any change is re-trialled

Process. Flexo or coating unit with a high volume anilox, two-stage UV cure, short wave surface cure followed by full cure

6. Storage and handling

Store in the original closed containers in a cool, dry place, protected from daylight, UV light sources, heat and frost. Shelf life is stated on the label and Certificate of Analysis. Handle and use the product in line with its Safety Data Sheet.

7. Safety and regulatory information

Read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Safety Data Sheets and regulatory declarations are issued by our technical centre against the product and batch supplied, so they are sent on request rather than published. Request a Safety Data Sheet or declaration.

This Technical Data Sheet is published for on-screen reference. The information is given in good faith from laboratory and application experience and describes typical values; it is not a specification and does not replace a trial on your own substrate and line.
