Arccoil PL 610 PVC Plastisol Coil Coating
A PVC plastisol applied at 100 to 200 microns over a plastisol-specific adhesive primer, gelled and fused in the oven and embossed in line to a leather grain or similar texture. The thick, plasticised film carries the impact and abrasion resistance that industrial roofing, cladding and deep profiles need.

1. Product description
A PVC plastisol applied at one hundred to two hundred microns over a plastisol-specific adhesive primer, gelled and fused in the oven and embossed in line to a leather grain or similar texture. The thick, plasticised film carries the impact and abrasion resistance industrial roofing, cladding and deep profiles need, and it takes bends that would crack a thin crosslinked film. Heat and ultraviolet resistance sit below Arccoil SP and Arccoil PV, so cut edges need protecting and fully exposed service in hot, high ultraviolet locations should be specified against outdoor data rather than assumed.
2. Features
- 100 to 200 micron fused film, embossed in line
- Impact and abrasion resistance for industrial roofing and deep profiles
- Plasticised rather than crosslinked; takes bends that would crack a thin crosslinked film
- No solvent to flash off, so applied and fused thickness are effectively the same
- Heat and ultraviolet resistance below Arccoil SP and Arccoil PV; cut edges need protecting
3. Recommended uses
Industrial roofing, cladding and deep profiles that need impact and abrasion resistance. Fully exposed service in hot, high ultraviolet locations is specified against outdoor data rather than assumed.
Substrates. Hot-dip galvanised steel and zinc-aluminium alloy coated steel strip, over a plastisol-specific adhesive primer.
4. Typical properties
| Property | Typical value | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Technology | PVC plastisol, plasticised, with no solvent to flash off | Formulation |
| Supply form | PVC plastisol for roll coating, with no solvent to flash off | Customer or supplier protocol |
| Dry film thickness | 100 to 200 microns fused | EN 13523-1; ASTM D7091 for the magnetic induction or eddy current check on the line |
| Peak metal temperature, gel and fusion | 204 to 232 degrees Celsius | Strip-attached thermocouple or peak metal temperature recorder read on the line; a line measurement, as there is no dedicated published test standard |
| Specular gloss, 60 degrees | 10 to 30 gloss units, depending on the emboss | ISO 2813, ASTM D523, EN 13523-2 |
| T-bend flexibility on 0.5 mm strip, no cracking with a tape pull across the bend | 0T | EN 13523-7, ASTM D4145 |
| Reverse impact, no cracking or adhesion loss | 9 to 18 joules on 0.5 mm strip, set against the substrate thickness and the forming schedule | EN 13523-5, ASTM D2794 |
| Adhesion after indentation, cupping test | No removal of the film from the deformed area | EN 13523-6 |
| Fusion check | Solvent rub and pencil hardness do not apply to a plasticised film; judge fusion by the reverse impact, T-bend and cupping results above and by the hardness and abrasion checks agreed for the order, using a hardness method suited to a plasticised film | Customer or supplier protocol |
| Neutral salt spray resistance, finished system | 500 to 1000 hours with creep from the scribe not more than 2 mm and no field blistering, set by the system chemistry and film build | ISO 9227, ASTM B117, EN 13523-8 |
Typical values, not a specification. Values for each batch are given on its Certificate of Analysis.
5. Application
| Parameter | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Application method | Roll coating on a continuous coil coating line with in-line embossing |
| Surface preparation | Hot-dip galvanised or zinc-aluminium alloy coated steel strip, cleaned, rinsed, chemically pretreated and dried, then primed with a plastisol-specific adhesive primer |
| Applied film | 100 to 200 microns fused; applied and fused thickness are effectively the same |
| Gel and fusion | 204 to 232 degrees Celsius peak metal temperature |
| Embossing | Embossed in line while the film is hot and before quenching, then cooled and recoiled |
| Process control | Under-fusion, not under-cure, is the failure mode to watch; it shows as a soft, easily marked film |
| After fabrication | Protect cut edges |
Process. Roll coated over primer to a fused film thickness of one hundred to two hundred microns, gelled and fused at a peak metal temperature of 204 to 232 degrees Celsius, embossed in line while the film is hot and before quenching, then cooled and recoiled. The plastisol carries no solvent to flash off, so applied and fused thickness are effectively the same and under-fusion, not under-cure, is the failure mode to watch.
6. Storage and handling
Store in the original, tightly closed containers in a cool, dry, covered area away from direct sunlight and heat, and stir to a uniform consistency before use. Shelf life is stated on the label and Certificate of Analysis. Handle and use the product in line with its Safety Data Sheet.
7. Safety and regulatory information
Read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Safety Data Sheets and regulatory declarations are issued by our technical centre against the product and batch supplied, so they are sent on request rather than published. Request a Safety Data Sheet or declaration.
This Technical Data Sheet is published for on-screen reference. The information is given in good faith from laboratory and application experience and describes typical values; it is not a specification and does not replace a trial on your own substrate and line.
