Arcliner AC 110 Roll-On Pilfer-Proof Closure Liner

A liner compound for aluminium roll-on pilfer-proof shells, which seals under the static top load of the pressure block while the capping head forms the thread and pilfer band on the bottle finish. It holds that seal through the spring-back of the aluminium after rolling.

1. Product description

A liner compound for aluminium roll-on pilfer-proof shells, which are not pre-threaded: the thread and the pilfer band are formed onto the bottle finish by the capping head at the moment of application. The seal is made by the vertical load that the pressure block applies to the top panel, and that load is held while the thread and pilfer rollers form the skirt, so the compound has to seal under a static top load and then hold it through the spring-back of the aluminium. It is the grade specified where the closure is aluminium and the thread is formed in place rather than screwed on.

2. Features

  • Seals under the vertical top load that the pressure block applies to the top panel
  • Holds the seal through spring-back of the aluminium once the thread and pilfer rollers have formed the skirt
  • Intended for shells that are not pre-threaded, where the thread is formed on the bottle finish at capping
  • Supplied as a flowable compound dried in the shell, or as a moulded disc or wad for insertion
  • Regulatory declaration issued on request against the product supplied

3. Recommended uses

Aluminium ROPP closures on glass and aluminium bottles for spirits, wine, edible oil, syrups and still beverages.

Substrates. Aluminium ROPP shells, sealing against glass and aluminium bottle finishes for spirits, wine, edible oil, syrups and still beverages.

5. Application

ParameterGuidance
Lining methodFlowed and dried in the shell, or inserted as a moulded disc or wad, by the closure maker before the shell reaches the packer
Shell preparationClean shells with sound interior lacquer on the sealing face, since lacquer condition and cleanliness decide adhesion of a flowed liner
DilutionSupplied ready for use; not to be thinned
Deposit weightDeposit weight and distribution set by shell diameter and panel profile, and held to the tolerance agreed at trial
DryingDried in the shell to the closure maker's oven profile, confirmed on the lining line during qualification
CappingPressure block applies vertical load to the top panel while the thread and pilfer rollers form the skirt; top load and roller settings are recorded
QualificationLine trial on the packer's own shells and bottles, followed by removal torque, leak and organoleptic checks over the intended shelf life

Process. Flowed and dried in the shell, or inserted as a moulded disc or wad; sealed by the pressure block on the top panel while the capping head rolls the thread and pilfer band onto the finish.

6. Storage and handling

Store in closed original containers in a cool, dry place, protecting the flowable grade from frost and heat and keeping moulded discs or wads in their sealed packaging. Shelf life is stated on the label and Certificate of Analysis, and handling guidance is given in the Safety Data Sheet, issued on request. Handle and use the product in line with its Safety Data Sheet.

7. Safety and regulatory information

Read the Safety Data Sheet before use. Safety Data Sheets and regulatory declarations are issued by our technical centre against the product and batch supplied, so they are sent on request rather than published. Request a Safety Data Sheet or declaration.

This Technical Data Sheet is published for on-screen reference. The information is given in good faith from laboratory and application experience and describes typical values; it is not a specification and does not replace a trial on your own substrate and line.
